She attended a meting of European Liberals who met ahead of an EU summit. The meeting addressed the EU's future and the European constitution.
"The most important conclusion is the encouragement to Croatia to step up reforms so that it could become a full member by the end of the decade," Pusic told Hina.
She said the other conclusion was to separate the negotiating processes for Croatia and Turkey. She said this initiative had come from the European Liberals and that it could be applied in Croatia's next negotiating chapter -- education and culture.
"My colleagues the Liberals feel that Croatia should become a full member by the end the decade, which for them is 2009."
The meeting was attended by Prime Ministers Guy Verhofstadt of Belgium, Anders Fogh Rasmussen of Denmark, Matti Vanhanen of Finland and Anton Popescu-Tariceanu of Romania, European Commissioners Olli Rehn and Janez Potocnik, and several ministers from EU member states.
Pusic said she suggested to her colleagues to hold their next congress in Croatia next year.
