ZAGREB, June 13 (Hina) - Croatia and Turkey have good bilateral relations but they have to intensify economic cooperation, notably in tourism, where they can be partners and not competitors, Croatian President Stjepan Mesic said
during talks with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Zagreb on Tuesday, Mesic's office said in a statement.
ZAGREB, June 13 (Hina) - Croatia and Turkey have good bilateral
relations but they have to intensify economic cooperation, notably in tourism,
where they can be partners and not competitors, Croatian President Stjepan
Mesic said during talks with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan in
Zagreb on Tuesday, Mesic's office said in a statement. Erdogan
agreed with Mesic, underlining that Croatia had made great headway in
development.
The two officials also discussed the situation in the region and
accession to the European Union, the common strategic interest of both
countries.
Attending the talks were Turkish State Minister Besir Atalay, Industry
and Trade Minister Ali Coskun, Turkish Ambassador to Croatia Dicle Kopuz, and a
Turkish parliamentary delegation.
Erdogan arrived in Croatia yesterday accompanied by a business
delegation. He also held talks with Prime Minister Ivo Sanader and Parliament
Speaker Vladimir Seks.
