State secretary Raboteg said he and the Austrian minister talked about the situation in the region, primarily the Kosovo issue, the coming referendum about Montenegro's independence and future constitutional solutions for Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Austria chairs the European Union and it is interested in the security situation in Southeast Europe, Raboteg said. These issues are very important for Croatia because they have an impact on security and a pace on which neighbouring countries could join Euro-Atlantic associations, which is in the interest of Croatia and the international community, Raboteg said adding that the talks also focused on bilateral issues and cooperation.
The two countries' cooperation is excellent, the Austrian minister said, congratulating Croatia on taking the right path to the EU. Our priority is the southeast of Europe, he said.
Asked if they discussed the offer submitted by the Austrian Stayer Puch company that wants to supply the Croatian Army with armoured personnel carriers Pandur 8x8, the Austrian minister said it was mentioned during talks that the Austrian Army had 68 such carriers that proved to be successful in peace missions.
