The conference pooled some 50 interior ministers of EU member and candidate states, Balkan countries and EU neighbouring countries and strategic partners.
Croatian Interior Minister said Ivica Kirin said the conference was successful.
The ministers advocated the strengthening of cooperation, coordination and exchange of infromation, experience and knowledge in the fight against cross-border organised crime. They added it was important to respect human rights.
The Croatian Minister also held a number of bilateral meetings which focused on cooperation and future joint activities. Kirin said a meeting on cross-border cooperation between Croatia, Hungary and Slovenia would be held on 18 and 19 May in Varazdin. Kirin added he would travel to Brussels and meet a vice president of the European Commission and chairman of the European Parliament's committee for civil freedoms and home affairs, Jaen-Marie Cavadom, and EU commissioner for terrorism, Gijs De Vries.
