MOSTAR, Aug 4 (Hina) - The president of the Bosnian Serb entity, Milan Jelic, has said that Croatia's 1995 Operation Storm represented the "persecution" of Serbs from Croatia and that "the executors and those who ordered the horrific crime committed against the Serb population must be brought to justice".

In a statement issued ahead of Storm's 12th anniversary, Jelic said the operation must be "a warning to Croatian authorities and the international community" that those who executed and ordered the crime against Serbs must be held to account.

"Only by establishing full responsibility and by punishing all those who committed war crimes during the conflicts in this region can one contribute to true reconciliation, inter-ethnic tolerance and further strengthening of stability in the region," said the statement.

On Sunday, Croatia marks the 12th anniversary of the military and police operation which liberated its territories from occupation by Serb rebels.
