Croats in Bosnian-Herzegovina will have enough possibilities thanks to their specific position to give proposals and initiatives for constitutional changes. All the initiatives are welcome, said the High Representative after a meeting with the chief of the Croatian Democratic Union of Bosnia-Herzegovina (HDZ BiH), Dragan Covic, in Mostar on Friday evening.
The Slovak diplomat said that in his capacity as the international High Representative he had no intention of imposing any model of a new Constitution in Bosnia.
Bosnia's Constitution must be a domestic product, Lajcak said.
International diplomats in Bosnian are announcing the resumption of negotiations on a new constitution, stressing that this is the most important political issue in the country since 1995 when the Dayton Peace Accords were reached putting an end to the four-year war in that country.
In April 2006 the national parliament failed to pass new constitutional legislation as the proposed draft was supported by less than two thirds of parliamentarians.
