SARAJEVO, July 5 (Hina) - German President Horst Koehler briefly visited Sarajevo on Thursday, announcing that his country would continue to actively support Bosnia and Herzegovina's drawing closer to the European Union.

visited Sarajevo on Thursday, announcing that his country would continue to
actively support Bosnia and Herzegovina's drawing closer to the European
Union. Koehler met the three members of the state Presidency. A
statement issued afterwards said he reaffirmed the strong interest in Bosnia's
stabilisation and faster reforms that would enable the country to join
Euro-Atlantic institutions.
Afterwards, Koehler visited the German troops within the European Union
peacekeepers in Bosnia and Herzegovina headed by German Rear Admiral
Hans-Jochen Witthauer.
