Zagorec, who is currently in Austria, is wanted by Croatia on suspicion of embezzling defence funds in the 1990s. His lawyers have submitted the footage to the Vienna district court as new evidence in the case in which the court is to decide whether or not Zagorec should be extradited to Croatia.
As a party to the case, the Croatian Chief State Prosecutor's Office has the right to examine the footage before the next hearing, which is scheduled for Wednesday, the Office said on its Internet site.
Zagorec's lawyers insist that the footage proves that their client is the subject of politically-motivated prosecution in Croatia. They claim that the footage shows Croatian President Stjepan Mesic's advisor Sasa Perkovic offering Zagorec suspension of the court proceedings in exchange for the information in his possession.
President Mesic has denied on several occasions that any such offers were made.
