She said her office would continue to support national prosecutor's offices in processing war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide, according to a press release issued by the Croatian Chief State Prosecutor's Office.
Participants in the conference agreed that after the signing of agreements on cooperation in prosecuting war criminals and perpetrators of genocide, cooperation between prosecutor's offices from the countries of the region had been advanced.
The spokeswoman for the Croatian Chief State Prosecutor's Office, Martina Mihordin, told reporters during a recess that participants in the conference discussed new possibilities of cooperation with a view to arresting and prosecuting war criminals, adding that this was the reason why this conference was being held behind closed doors.
The participants also talked about the results achieved in prosecuting criminals and working on cases and difficulties they had encountered but which had been removed with the signing of cooperation agreements.
They also pointed out cooperation models, primarily the exchange of facts and evidence with the aim of arresting and trying all criminals given that countries of the region cannot extradite their citizens, the spokeswoman said
The meeting was also attended by Croatian Chief State Prosecutor Mladen Bajic, his deputies Dragan Novosel and Josip Cule, Bosnian Chief Prosecutor Marinko Jurcevic, Serbian War Crimes Prosecutor Vladimir Vukcevic and his deputy Veselin Mrdak, Montenegrin Chief Public Prosecutor Vesna Medenica and her associates Ranka Carapic and Rifat Hadrovic.
