SARAJEVO, June 29 (Hina) - Serb deputies in the Bosnian
parliament's House of Peoples on Friday prevented the approval of an agreement
on relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Holy See signed last year,
requesting that the status of the Orthodox Church in the country be regulated
first. The upper house was supposed to have ratified the first
agreement that would regulate Bosnia-Vatican relations and the rights and
activity of the Catholic Church in the country.
Serb deputies blocked the ratification because earlier this week the
state Presidency returned for revision a draft agreement with the Serb Orthodox
Church.
