SARAJEVO, July 2 (Hina) - Slovak diplomat Miroslav Lajcek has taken over the duty of the international community's High Representative to Bosnia-Herzegovina.
SARAJEVO, July 2 (Hina) - Slovak diplomat Miroslav Lajcek has taken over the duty of the international community's High Representative to Bosnia-Herzegovina.

A brief ceremony took place in Sarajevo on Monday during which the 44-year-old Lajcak, the sixth High Representative, assumed the duty from German politician Christian Schwarz-Schilling, who was in the office for the last 17 months.

Lajcak is considered to be acquainted with the situation in the region. He was Slovak Ambassador to Belgrade and also the European Union's special envoy for the implementation of Montenegro's independence referendum.
