ZAGREB, April 11 (Hina) - The Programmes Council of the national broadcasting company HRT has called for Thursday an extraordinary session over last week's "Piramida" show featuring the leader of the Party of the Danube Region Serbs, whose statements prompted more than 350 phone calls by disgruntled viewers, with the families of missing and detained Croatian soldiers announcing a protest rally.

The session will discuss the implementation of programme principles and obligations of Croatian Radio and Television in the said show.

Along with the leader of the Party of the Danube Region Serbs, Rade Leskovac, the show hosted reporter Vjekoslav Krsnik and Sisak-Moslavina County deputy prefect Marijana Petir, who also responded to Leskovac's statements.

Leskovac said, among other things, that Croatia was not a law-based and democratic country and that Serbs in Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina were not responsible for the recent war.

The national federation of associations gathering the families of missing and detained Croatian soldiers today urged the HRT director and the host of the "Piramida" show to publicly apologise to Croatian soldiers and families of soldiers who were killed, went missing or were detained in the war.

In case no apology is made, the federation said it would stage a protest rally in front of the HRT headquarters and call on its members to stop paying subscription fees.
