ZAGREB, March 26 (Hina) - The Croatian Radio and Television (HRT) Programmes Council on Monday failed to elect the national broadcaster's new director-general as none of the candidates managed to win the required two-thirds majority
vote.

Programmes Council on Monday failed to elect the national broadcaster's new
director-general as none of the candidates managed to win the required
two-thirds majority vote. Vanja Sutlic, ex-director Mirko Galic's
assistant, received seven votes in the fourth voting round but was one vote
short of the required two-thirds majority.
An acting director will be nominated and new applications for this post
will be invited on Thursday, when the Programmes Council is due to convene
again.
