"For now, I'm not travelling to Russia but I will gladly go there if I get invited. I believe that Croatia should develop good relations with the Russian Federation," Sanader said-
"If the visit takes place I am certain it will not be made conditional on anything, not even on the Druzba Alpe Adria project," Sanader said.
Jutarnji List ran an article in its Friday issue saying that Sanader could visit Russia, saying that this was indicated in a statement issued by the Croatian Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry released after political consultations of Croatian and Russian officials.
Druzba Adria is an international project of exporting Russian oil into the world's market through the 3,200 kilometre-long oil pipe lines of the Druzba and Adria system from Samara in Russia, through Belarus, Ukraine, Slovakia, Hungary to the Croatian port of Omisalj and Croatia. The project has become an issue in the Croatia-Russia relations because Moscow is bothered by Zagreb's undefined position.
