The 'appendices' to their declarations of assets sent to the parliamentary Conflict of Interest Commission over the past few days are an outcome of recent discussions on what office-holders should declare as their assets. The debates were prompted by accusations by some media against PM Ivo Sanader, who was said to have failed to declare a set of valuable wristwatches he possessed.
Those office-holders, including Premier Sanader, countered with statements that the criteria for filling in declarations of assets were vague.
Following some explanations of the Conflict of Interest Commission, PM Sanader sent an additional statement declaring that he and his family possess movable property, including watches, the value of which is about 1.5 million kuna.
For instance, Deputy Prime Ministers Jadranka Kosor and Damir Polancec subsequently declared their chattels worth up to 200,000 kuna and 500,000 kuna respectively.
Both Health Minister Neven Ljubicic and Defence Minister Berislav Roncevic declared in 'appendices' that they possess movables whose value is assessed at 500,000 kuna.
They are followed by Finance Minister Ivan Suker who additionally declared 450,000 kuna of movables.
Both Foreign and Interior Ministers Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic and Ivica Kirin put down the possession of movables worth 300,000 kuna. At the bottom of the list are Construction Minister Marina Matulovic-Dropulic (250,000 kuna) and Economy Minister Branko Vukelic (100,000 kuna).
Spokesman for the government Ratko Macek additionally declared 700,000 kuna in movables.
All of them also gave additional explanations how they had acquired said personal property.
