Officials of the Republic of Srpska decided to boycott the Radiotelevizija BiH two weeks ago, thus expressing their dissatisfaction with the network's coverage of the entity government's activities.
Under the agreement, officials will resume giving statements to Radiotelevizija BiH.
The agreement was made after the decision of the entity's government was met with strong disapproval and severe criticism from journalists' associations and nongovernmental organisations in Bosnia-Herzegovina as well as among international diplomats in the country, who branded it as pressure on the freedom of the media.
This has been the first time in Bosnia-Herzegovina since the end of the war in the 1990s that some bodies of the authorities opted for an open boycott of the media.
