The ministry welcomed the two countries' accession on January 1, saying this event would significantly contribute to the stability and overall development of Southeast Europe.
The ministry said the accession represented an additional motive to other countries in the region to undertake reforms necessary for meeting European standards.
With the accession of two new countries, Croatia and Southeast Europe have two new advocates of the region's interests in the EU, said the press release.
The support and experience of Romania and Bulgaria will help all countries in this part of Europe to join the Union based on their achievements and accession pace, the press release said.
