Recent firmness in other markets saw buyers down the processing line holding back around the end of last week until nearby direction can be ascertained. Very little fresh business was placed despite currency moves that indicated that prices ought to have risen to cover costs, as brokers felt unconfident without support from the wool market itself. Deliveries though are going out well, brokers said. 040950 MET mar 97
