SARAJEVO, Nov 8 (Hina) - Several hundreds of Croats, Moslems and
Gypsies were expelled last week from Banja Luka (the Serb-conquered
city in northwestern Bosnia), a UN High Commissioner for Refugees
spokesman, Peter Kessler, said today in Sarajevo.
The self-styled Serb authorities announced to UNHCR
representatives that 300 citizens today should depart from Banja
Luka to Croatia. Another groups of expelled citizens might be
expected in the next days, Kessler said.
The ethnic cleansing of Banja Luka was being almost complete.
The expulsion of non-Serbs was being carried under control of a
Serb "office for the exchange of inhabitants", he said. The
displaced had to leave their property to the Serb authorities.
Kessler described the situation in Banja Luka as very tense
and difficult for all non-Serb citizens.
