SARAJEVO, Nov 2, (Hina)- Bosnian Army fifth corps units yesterday
launched an attack on Bosanska Krupa making this western Bosnian
city the scene of intense fighting, UNPROFOR Sarajevo spokesman Tim
Spicer, said today.
He added that according to unconfirmed reports, Bosnian
soldiers entered northern suburbs in Bosanska Krupa, but they
hadn't taken full control of the area.
At other sections of battlelines in western Bosnia there were
no major operations. UN military observers confirmed that Serbs
from occupied parts of Croatia last night fired nine shells at
Velika Kladusa, killing at least one child.
Spicer said that the Bosnian Army was continuing with its
offensive operation from Bugojno towards Kupres in southwest Bosnia
with Bosnian soldiers arriving near Kupres.
Sarajevo UNPROFOR headquarters said today that extensive HVO
(Croatian Defence Council) movements towards Kupres were sighted in
the last 24 hours.
"We believe, although we're not certain, that the HVO could
join the Bosnian Army in the offensive on Kupres," Spicer said.
UN military observers confirmed information on the continued
and more severe artillery battles around the Doboj and Gradacac
battlefields and along 'Posavina Corridor' in northern Bosnia.
UNPROFOR said that many civilians were seen moving away from this
crisis area because of the intensified shelling and expected
larger-scale military operations.
