ZAGREB, May 30 (Hina) - A Statehood Day military parade started
today in Zagreb with a solemn parade of the Croatian Armed forces.
Along with great number of Zagreb residents the parade was
attended by Croatian President and Supreme Commander Franjo
Tudjman.
Croatian Army Chief-of-staff Janko Bobetko reported his men in
position.
Announced with a flourish of trumpets and greeted with
applause, President Tudjman, accompanied by Defence Minister Gojko
Susak, reviewedas all units taking part in the parade.
After the first opera singer of the Croatian National Theatre
in Zagreb, Ivanka Boljkovac, performed the national anthem "Lijepa
nasa", President Tudjman called on the gathering to pay respect to
all those who died for Croatia with a minute of silence.
The parade was attended by highest state officials and members
of the Diplomatic corps accredited in Croatia.
