ZAGREB, May 30 (Hina) - Croatian President Franjo Tudjman and his
wife, Mrs. Ankica Tudjman, held a reception in the presidential
court on Tuesday to mark Statehood Day and the fifth anniversary of
the independent Croatia for dignitaries, high-ranking officials,
diplomatic and consular corps members, accredited in Zagreb, led by
the dean of the corps, Apostolic Nuncio Giulio Einaudi.
There were about 2,000 guests including Croatian Parliament
Houses speakers, Nedjeljko Mihanovic and Katica Ivanisevic,
Croatian Premier Nikica Valentic, judiciary officials, Croatian
Army and police officials, businessmen, religious dignitaries such
as Roman Catholic Cardinal Franjo Kuharic, the head of Islamic
communities in Croatia and Slovenia, Sefko Omerbasic, as well as
scholars, scientists, sportsmen, public media representatives,
cultural workers, Croatian ex-service men of Homeland War, UN
representatives and a delegation of the Federation of Bosnia-
Herzegovina, led by President Kresimir Zubak, and others.
In a ceremonial and friendly atmosphere President Tudjman
exchange messages and congratulations on Statehood Day.
