SISAK, April 5 (Hina) - Croatian Serb rebels in the area of
Banovina (southeast of the Croatian capital Zagreb) had not
violated the March 29, 1994 Ceasefire Agreement, but they were
amassing new troops and equipment at positions along disengagement
lines, the superintendent of the Sisak police, Vladimir Milankovic,
said on Wednesday.
Serbs were mobilizing people in the areas under their control,
he said.
Milankovic added that Sisak police were ready to carry out
their duties in line with UN Security Council Resolution 981 on the
UN new operation in Croatia.
"Units for the border police have been formed and prepared to
assume police control of Croatia's internationally recognized
borders when the conditions have been met," he said.
