ARZANO, March 31 (Hina) - Four years have passed since Serbian
aggression claimed its first victim in Croatia.
On this day in 1991, Josip Jovic, a member of a Croatian
special police unit, was killed in Plitvice National Park, about
100 km south of Zagreb.
Croatian policemen, led by Interior Minister Ivan Jarnjak, and
in the presence of several government officials, today marked the
fourth anniversary of Jovic's death in his hometown of Arzano,
north of Split.
His family today laid a wreath at the newly erected tombstone.
Member of Parliament Ivan Milas laid a wreath on behalf of the
Croatian Parliament.
Jarnjak told a large gathering that Jovic's death forbode the
death of thousands of Croatians and the systematic destruction of
Croatian towns, villages, schools, hospitals and churches.
