ZAGREB, March 15 (Hina) - The House of Representatives committee on
home policy and national security today decided to request a third
reading for their National Security Office Bill.
The Committee plans to present an exorcised version of the
Bill for the third reading, after consulting all the members that
took part in the full-house debate on the Bill yesterday and the
members of the committee on Constitution and standing orders.
The committee on Constitution and standing orders also
discussed the Bill today and agreed that it needed a third reading.
They agreed that the Bill was on the whole Constitutional but
its wording tended to be rather vague. For instance, the part
dealing with the new Office's task to coordinate the work of
various ministries where national security issues are concerned,
failed to provide any definition of "national security issues".
The members submitted 23 amendments to the Bill.
