ZAGREB, Feb 27 (Hina) - A two-day session of the Sub-Committee on
Human Rights of the Council of Europe's Parliamentary Assembly is
currently being held in Zagreb as part of the procedure for
admitting Croatia to Council of Europe membership.
Zarko Domljan, chairman of the Croatian Parliament Foreign
Relations Committee, said that European officials were "impressed
with the width and openness of today's talks as well as with
answers from Croatian experts."
Sub-Committee officials were today received by Croatian
Parliament speaker Nedjeljko Mihanovic. They also held talks with
representatives of parliamentary committees, political parties,
national minorities and media.
Tomorrow, Council of Europe officials are scheduled to meet
representatives of the Ministries of the Interior and Justice, and
the judiciary.
