SARAJEVO, Feb 4 (Hina) - A solemn mass in commemoration of those
who were killed in a massacre three years ago on the Sarajevo
market of Markale, was held in Sarajevo Roman Catholic Cathedral on
Tuesday.
The service was said by Bosnia-Herzegovina's Cardinal, Msgr.
Vinko Puljic, accompanied by all Roman Catholic Bishops of Bosnia -
Assistant Bishop, Pero Sudar, Bishop of Banja Luka, Msgr. Franjo
Komarica, Bishop of Mostar Ratko Peric - and Assistant Bishop of
Srijem and Djakovo, Msgr. Marin Srakic.
Three years ago 67 Sarajevans were killed and more than a
hundred were injured on the market of Markale in the blast of one
shell fired from Serb positions around Sarajevo.
Cardinal Puljic said that "we could not remain indifferent
towards evil grown from human hatred."
A Moslem prayer (hatma dova) will be said in all mosques in
the Bosnian capital on Tuesday evening, and Bosnian Serb Orthodox
Metropolitan Nikolaj will hold liturgy in the old Orthodox Church
at Bascarsija on Wednesday in memory of the victims of that
horrible massacre.
Sarajevo Canton authorities will lay a wreath near the spot of
the tragic incident, on Wednesday.
