ZAGREB, Jan 11 (Hina) - The Independent Trade Union Of Croatian
Scientists and University Workers, on Saturday delivered the
Union's awards to deserving citizens, on occasion of the seventh
anniversary and the Day of the Union.
Croatia's Foreign Minister Dr. Mate Granic was awarded for his
contribution to the development of science and university
education. A Croatian parliamentarian Srecko Bijelic was also
awarded.
Dragutin Lesar, a former leader of the Association of Croatian
Independent Trade Unions, received the award for his contribution
to the development of democratic freedoms, while Ivica Crnic, a
lawyer, was presented with the award for his contribution to the
rule of law in the Republic of Croatia.
The award-presenting ceremony was attended by dons and head-
masters of colleges, Science Ministry officials, other unions'
representatives and politicians.
