ZAGREB, Feb 24 (Hina) - The Croatian Academy of Arts and Sciences
(HAZU) on Monday declared its new members - 21 new regular members
and 28 corresponding members from abroad who were elected at a HAZU
session on January 30.
At a declaration ceremony the HAZU head, academician Ivan
Supek, spoke of the historical development of the Academy since its
establishment 1861 up to date.
Supek said that such a big number of the HAZU members had
never been declared until now and that for the first time in
history of the Academy, members were accepted into a newly-
established class of technical sciences.
Speaking of modern science he said it had opened door to free
action and moral responsibility of each scientist and scholar.
