ZAGREB, 17 Jan (Hina) - The House of Representatives on Friday continued its session, which started on Wednesday, with a discussion on a bill on preschool education and care for children of preschool age.

According to the bill, kindergartens should be public
institutions which would be founded by Croatian physical and legal
persons. The bill also proposes the adoption of a state preschool
education pedagogical standard as well as the regulation of ways to
finance nurseries.
There are 435 preschool institutions with 126,245 children in
Croatia currently. Out of those 435 institutions, 337 were founded
by municipalities and towns. There are 47 private nurseries, while
51 nurseries were founded by religious communities.
