BOSNIAN COUNCIL OF MINISTERS HOLDS FIRST SESSION

Autor:
SARAJEVO, Jan 3 (Hina) - The Council of Ministers of Bosnia- Herzegovina held its first full session on Friday after being confirmed by the House of Representatives earlier in the day. The session was held in the Sarajevo neighbourhood of Lukavica, which is part of the Serb entity. The main item on today's agenda was an international conference in January on reconstruction aid for Bosnia. According to co-chairman Haris Silajdzic, the Council has appointed a ministerial delegation to represent Bosnia-Herzegovina at the conference. "This conference is important as a preliminary session to the main donors' conference and we are hoping for the best," Silajdzic said. Still, the Council was not able to reach an agreement today on the location of joint state bodies, Silajdzic said. A 15-member upper house or House of Peoples today also convened in Lukavica for an inaugural session. Present were Bosnian Presidency members Kresimir Zubak and Momcilo Krajisnik, as well as international mediator Michael Steiner and members of the newly-appointed Council of Ministers. The House appointed three rotating chairmen with seven-month mandates - Momir Tosic (Serbian Democratic Party), Avdo Campara (Party of Democratic Action) and Petar Maric (Croatian Democratic Union).
