SARAJEVO, Dec 12 (Hina) - Bosnia-Herzegovina's three-man
Presidency, on Thursday appointed a Moslem, Haris Silajdzic, and a
Serb, Boro Bosic, to be co-chairmen of the Bosnian Council of
Ministry.
They were nominated by the (Moslem-led) Party of Democratic
Action, SDA, and by the Serb Democratic Party, SDS. Co-chairmen are
expected to appoint other members of the Council of Ministers by
December 17 when a session of Bosnia-Herzegovina's Assembly House
of Representatives is convened. The House of Representatives is
authorized, under the Constitution, to confirm nominations of the
co-chairmen, ministers and deputy ministers of the Council.
At Thursday's session Bosnia's Presidency members, Alija
Izetbegovic, Kresimir Zubak and Momcilo Krajisnik decided that Boro
Bosic would be the first to chair the Council for a week.
It was earlier agreed that the two co-chairmen would be
rotating each week.
A statement, issued after Thursday's session of the Bosnian
Presidency, said that Presidency's members held the right to
replace co-chairman 'in line with their powers'.
Organization, rights and responsibilities of the Council of
Ministries should be determined by special laws and a standing
order.
A Bosnian Croat-Moslem Federation minister and Zubak's
representative in negotiations for the ministerial Council's
establishment, Martin Raguz, told reporters that the Presidency
members confirmed today proposed candidates for other members of
the Council.
Bosnia-Herzegovina's Presidency on Thursday demanded from all
responsible authorities to lift a state of immediate war danger in
areas where they had not done it so far. It also reached decision
on establishing diplomatic relations with the Russian Federation.
Raguz announced that lists of POWs should be matched until the
next session of the Presidency and that war prisoners should be
soon released.
