SARAJEVO, Dec 30 (Hina) - Deputy to the High Representative for the
implementation of the peace agreement in Bosnia-Herzegovina,
Michael Steiner, on Monday started a new round of negotiations with
the highest Bosnian officials aimed at removing obstacles for
calling a session of the state Parliament and appointing a Council
of Ministers. #L#
Spokesman of Bildt's Office, Duncan Bullivant, said that a
session of the Presidency of Bosnia-Herzegovina would take place in
Lukavica near Sarajevo (under Serb control) on Monday afternoon,
when current misunderstandings should be resolved.
Steiner held talks about the issue with a member of the
Presidency, Kresimir Zubak, on Monday morning.
Prior to Christmas holidays, Steiner said that the Serb side
was obstructing the establishment of joint institutions, that is,
the appointment of the Council of Ministers.
The deadline for the Serb authorities to consent to a
reasonable solution, as Steiner put it, expired on Sunday.
Regarding the session of the House of Representatives, we
expected it to be held very soon, Steiner said.
