ZAGREB, Jan 9 (Hina) - The Croatian army continues verifying the
implementation of the Subregional Arms Control Agreement.
Croatian army inspection teams are travelling to the Moslem-
Croat Federation and the Serb entity of Bosnia-Herzegovina on
Friday to begin the second stage of the agreement which envisages
the destruction of weapons in excess of the number set by the
agreement.
The second, arms reduction stage should be completed by
November 1, 1997.
In the first stage, Croatia fulfilled all of its obligations.
It reduced 41 percent of the planned number of weapns, exceeding
the amount envisaged for the first stage. Thus Croatia once again
confirmed its full cooperation in creating stability in the region,
the Croatian Defence Ministry said in a statement on Thursday.
