FOREIGN MILITARY ENVOYS INSPECT REDUCTION IN ARMS SURPLUS IN SISAK

SISAK $ SISAK, Dec 12 (Hina) - Teams of foreign military envoys and OSCE military officials from several European countries and the United States, in organization of the Croatian Army's Verificational Centre (VS OS RH) inspected how Croatian Army (HV) was reducing its arms in the 'Metaval' firm plants in Sisak. The HV was dismantling a surplus of artillery arms with calibres bigger than 75 centimetres, as Croatia decided to reduce such amounts in compliance with agreements on sub regional arms control. The Croatian Army's Verificational Centre head, Brigadier Vinko Stefanek, received foreign military envoys, led by an OSCE senior official, Italian General Pietro Bonabello. Brigadier Stefanek informed them of the Centre's work. Then the foreign military envoys and officials toured plants where the weaponry is being reduced, and warehouses where it is stored.
