BUGOJNO, Aug 26 (Hina) - President of the Bugojno Municipal
Council, Ivo Mrso, was leaving his home to go to work when he noticed
a bomb sitting in front of his house in Bugojno.
He informed the local and international police who defused the bomb
in situ.
The Bugojno branch of the Croatian Democratic Union of Bosnia-
Herzegovina (HDZ BiH) condemned this incident which, luckily, had
no serious consequences.
"Croats in Bugojno remain to be subject to pressures by the hard-
line portion of the Moslem people, and local Moslem authorities are
not displaying any readiness to oppose such organised pressures on
Croats," the HDZ BiH said in a statement.
The party enumerates incidences of abuse of Croats and their
property, especially the destruction of reconstructed Croat
houses.
This hinders the return of the 16,000 displaced Croats to their
homes in the town, the statement said.
International representatives are called on to be more efficient in
the discovery of the perpetrators of such acts and their
punishment.
