The first condition set by the strike committee has thus been met,
Bacinovic said and added that the committee would see to it that the
shipyard's management pays the rest of the salaries to employees.
The committee's second condition is payment of another 3,000 kuna
per employee by September 1.
In Monday's talks with Economy Minister Ljubo Jurcic, the union
received the minister's full support, Bacinovic said, adding that
the union supported Jurcic's claim that the owners of the shipyard
should look after the workers and the company, otherwise, they
should transfer their ownership or sell the shipyard to the state
for one kuna.
The shipyard should undergo a thorough reorganisation and staff
restructuring as the only chance for it to survive, Bacinovic
said.
He added that the Supervisory Committee should urgently set up a new
management board since the shipyard has been lacking one for more
than two weeks.
