Seks said that according to his information the new minister of the interior should be appointed at the next, 15th session of the parliament.
The incumbent minister, Marijan Mlinaric, is leaving the government for health reasons.
Seks also expressed confidence that the new president of the Supreme Court too would be appointed by 15 July. The candidate for the post is Branko Hrvatin.
The government will send to parliament a bill on elections for local self-government bodies, Seks said, adding he believed the bill would be discussed, together with similar bills, and adopted by the end of the year.
He added that the new law would have to define relations between the mayor elected in direct elections and the representative body to prevent the mayor from assuming a dominant role over the representative body.
He also added that the law would have to include solutions to regulate pre- and post-election coalitions to prevent political trade.
The Sabor Speaker confirmed that a bill had been prepared on the Election Commission as a permanent and professional body supervising all elections.
