SUBOTICA, June 20 (Hina) - Officials of the Serbian Radical Party
(SRS) of Hague tribunal indictee Vojislav Seselj have continued attacks on
Serbian Agriculture Minister Ivana Dulic Markovic over her Croat ethnic
background, the latest being allegations that her father founded the Croatian
Democratic Union (HDZ) branch in Subotica. A senior SRS official,
Gordana Pop-Lazic, has said in an interview for a Belgrade-based TV station
that the father of Ivana Dulic Markovic founded the HDZ branch in Subotica.
The G17 party, whose member Dulic Markovic is, considers this an
ill-intended attempt to discredit the minister.
The party warned Serbian citizens that the inflammatory language, lies
and chauvinism spread by the SRS had at one time created the atmosphere which
led to hatred, wars and the suffering of a large number of citizens.
The head of the Democratic Alliance of Vojvodina Croats, Petar Kuntic,
told Hina that the HDZ had never had a branch in Subotica.
