Most parties argued that all crimes committed during the wars in the former Yugoslavia in the 1990s should be equally condemned, while the Democratic Party of Serbian President Boris Tadic and the Serbian Renewal Movement of Serbia and Montenegro's Foreign Minister Vuk Draskovic insisted on a separate condemnation of the Srebrenica massacre.
These two parties also demanded that tribute should be paid to the victims of the Srebrenica massacre and that those responsible for or involved in the atrocity should be identified and brought to justice.
Other parliamentary parties, namely the Democratic Party of Serbia's Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica, the Radical Party of Hague tribunal detainee Vojislav Seselj, the Social Party of Slobodan Milosevic, G17 Plus of Deputy Prime Minister Miroljub Labus and New Serbia led by Velimir Ilic, insisted that the declaration should also mention crimes committed against Serbs during the wars of the 1990s.
