By last Friday, only 354 of 1,234 officials declared how they acquired assets.
Leko said that all ministers, the prime minister, the president of the republic and staff in his office, all Constitutional Court judges, 135 of 152 members of parliament and 11 local officials submitted their declarations.
There are members in all parliamentary clubs of deputies, bar that of the Party of Rights, who have forgotten to submit their declarations.
Leko said local officials likely forgot to submit declarations because they had been busy with local elections held earlier this month. He voiced confidence they would meet their legal obligation by the end of the month.
There is no penalty for forgetful officials.
Conflict of Interest Commission member Zorislav Antun Petrovic said the commission served to help officials distinguish between public and private interest. The commission's purpose is not to punish but incite officials to be responsible, he said.
The declarations of assets will be available on the Internet.
