region, to start on Friday.
VARNA, May 19 (Hina) - Croatian President Stjepan Mesic on
Thursday evening arrived in Varna, Bulgaria, for a two-day regional forum on
culture corridors in south-eastern Europe and the common past and heritage of
countries in the region, to start on Friday. The forum, organised at
the initiative of Bulgarian President Georgi Parvanov, will also pool
representatives from Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Greece, Macedonia, Romania,
Turkey, and Serbia and Montenegro.
The Varna event is organised under the sponsorship of UNESCO Director
General Koichiro Matsuura and Council of Europe Secretary-General Terry
Davis.
President Mesic is also expected to meet Greek President Karolos
Papulias and Turkish President Ahmed Necdet Sezer.
