ZAGREB, May 18 (Hina) - Josipa Rimac, who headed the Croatian
Democratic Union (HDZ) slate in Knin in last Sunday's local elections, has said
that the town will be ruled by a four-party bloc consisting of the HDZ, the
Croatian Bloc (HB), the Party of Rights (HSP) and the Social Liberal Party
(HSLS) in accordance with a pre-election coalition agreement. This
bloc "has not proposed any cooperation with the Independent Democratic Serb
Party (SDSS) in terms of forming a coalition," Croatian Television (HTV) quoted
Rimac as saying on Tuesday evening.
She added that the three-party coalition would abide by the
Constitutional Law and would respect all the rights accorded to the Serbian
minority under the law.
SDSS vice-president Milorad Pupovac told HTV on Tuesday evening that it
was too early to speak of "forming a monoethnic government in Knin".
In Sunday's local elections, the SDSS won eight seats in the 17-seat
Knin Town Council, the HDZ gained six, the HB two and the HSP one.
