ZAGREB, May 15 (Hina) - The spokesman for the Croatian Democratic
Union (HDZ), Ratko Macek, said on Sunday evening that it was too early to
comment on the results of exit polls because those polls were conducted on a
small number of people. He said the results would be changed in the
next two hours, showing better results for the ruling party.
Asked what the HDZ considers an electoral success, Macek said that a
success would be the confirmation of the results from the 2001 local elections
or better.
Local elections are specific and cannot be compared with parliamentary
elections, Macek told reporters. He added that small things are crucial at
local elections.
