animated-film maker Walt Disney, Diane, tothe head of the Osijek branch of the Croatian Mine Action, DubravkoKrusarovski.
ILOK, May 12 (Hina) - The founder and executive manager of the US
charity association "Roots of Peace", Heidi Kuhn, in the eastern Croatian town
of Ilok on Thursday presented the US$85,000 donation made by the daughter of US
animated-film maker Walt Disney, Diane, to the head of the Osijek branch of
the Croatian Mine Action, Dubravko Krusarovski. The donation is
earmarked for removing mines from Ilok vineyards.
"The US Government decided to give one dollar to each dollar donated by
Diane Disney-Miller, so the amount donated to the Croatian Mine Action Centre
totals $170,000," a member of the Vukovar-Srijem County leadership said. The
same source added that the funds will be used for removing mines from 6.5
hectares of vineyards in the Ilok region.
The mine removal should start in about one month.
