VUKOVAR, April 17 (Hina) - The prefect of the eastern Croatian
Vukovar County, Nikola Safer, on Sunday met ambassadors Lionel Strenghart Veer
of the Netherlands and Milan Simurdic of Serbia and Montenegro to discuss
projects related to the cross-border cooperation between Croatia and Serbia and
Montenegro, the office of the county prefect said in a statement.
Safer informed the ambassadors about a project to de-mine the border between
Croatia and Serbia and Montenegro, stating that the two countries had agreed to
seek EU funds for that purpose together.
The ambassadors were also informed about efforts to open two border
crossings in Vukovar County, as well as about a project of multiethnic TV
station, which would be based in Vukovar, and a project to build cyclist lanes
along the Danube River.
Ambassador Veer was very interested in nominating the projects for
funding by the Dutch Foreign Ministry, and suggested a visit by Dutch tourists
to promote the project of cyclist lanes, the statement said.
