The bust was unveiled by Osijek-Baranja County Prefect Kresimir Bubalo. Present at the ceremony were Tudjman's widow Ankica and their son Miroslav, as well as some local and parliamentary officials.
Addressing the officials, the Tudjman family and some 200 people who gathered for this occasion, Branimir Glavas, who is now an independent member of parliament after the ruling Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) recently ousted him, accused the HDZ leadership of trying to undermine plans for erecting a bust or monument to the first Croatian President in Osijek.
Mrs. Ankica Tudjman and her son Miroslav later in the day attended a ceremony of naming an elementary school in the nearby town of Beli Manastir after the late president Tudjman.
