ZAGREB, April 13 (Hina) - Austrian National Council President
Andreas Khol on Wednesday afternoon held a meeting with the chairman of the
Croatian parliament's committee on inter-parliamentary cooperation, Tonci
Tadic, committee members, and Nikola Mak, head of a delegation of the
Croatian-Austrian friendship group, the Sabor stated in a press release. Khol and the Croatian parliamentarians talked about the role of
parliaments in accession negotiations with the European Union.
Khol said his country had followed the Danish model in that process,
with the government being bound to brief the parliament about everything
regarding the negotiating process.
Commenting on the position of ethnic minorities in Croatia, Mak said
that this matter was regulated very well by many laws and stressed that ethnic
minorities exercised their rights in everyday life.
