Jakovcic said the decision was the result of their fruitful cooperation, which he said had lasted since 1993 and which culminated with the declaration of bilingualism in Istria County.
Tremul said that the IDS was a reliable partner when it came to the protection of rights of the ethnic Italian community as well as joint European projects.
He added that the IDS's list of candidates for the county assembly would include five representatives of the Italian community and that one of them would be elected a deputy county head if the IDS won the elections.
