SKOPJE, April 10 (Hina) - Nearly 50 per cent of Macedonia'sconstituents went to the polls on Sunday to elect 20 municipal headsand the mayor of the capital Skopje in repeated local elections.
SKOPJE, April 10 (Hina) - Nearly 50 per cent of Macedonia's constituents went to the polls on Sunday to elect 20 municipal heads and the mayor of the capital Skopje in repeated local elections.

The elections were repeated because of numerous irregularities in the first two rounds.

The ethnic Albanian opposition boycotted the repeated elections as it did the runoff because of the rejection of its request that elections be nullified in all 16 municipalities with a majority Albanian population due to voting irregularities.

State radio said today's voting had passed in line with regulations.
